A Good Idea

Could someone please tell me the name
of a bird in Oklahoma
that makes a sound
like a telephone ringing
in 1963 as you rush to it
with a good idea of who’s calling?

I’ve been hearing it for awhile now
but it’s in a tree and I can’t
see it to describe it to you
and that’s all I have to
go on at this moment
but isn’t that something?
