This one was of my first underwater model. She is my daughter and was humoring her eccentric mother by posing underwater for photographs. We had no idea how this artistic endeavor was going to turn out but had lots of fun during the two hour underwater photoshoot. One of the other photos I took of her that evening won an art award and is about to appear as an illustration in a poetry book. Just goes to show, if you do art for the sake of just the enjoyment of creating it, you never know what may happen!
About the Author
Melissa Milton was born in the Southern U.S. (Arkansas) during the turbulent 1960’s and came of age in the groovy 1970’s. The colorful clothing, interior décor, and art of those decades influences her artistic expression. The family of colors and designs associated with those eras frequently find their way into her artwork, especially in tertiary colors. She tends to use curved, relaxed, flowing shapes expressing an object in new ways which people may have not seen before. Melissa took up artwork late in life, after physical disabilities required her to retire from law.
