When it was time for me to go to kindergarten, I was having none of it. “Mom, I can’t go to school; I have to stay home and take care of the dog!” “Julie, I think I can take care of the dog until you get home,” said Mom. “Okay. But when can I come home?” “You can come home when the bell rings.” said Mom. Kindergarten was fine, but all I could think of was getting back to my dog, Trigger. Forty-five minutes after arriving at school, the bell rang for recess. I ran home as fast as I could, rushed through the front door, and hollered, “I’m home, Mom!” Needless to say, I was sent back to school.
